About

In 2001, the Univesity of Alaska Fairbanks Georgeson Botanical Garden (School of Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences) started a research program for field-grown specialty cut flowers, especially peonies. Our efforts have spawned a new industry in Alaska that exports fresh cut peonies around the world. Our research continues in plant nutrition, fertilizers, post harvest studies, disease and pest detection and flower phenology. With this blog we will share current results of our research as well as peony research from around the world.
